The House of Delegates is the governing body of the Academy, empowered with the authority necessary to perform this function. It may adopt rules consistent with the Constitution and Bylaws. It is the judge of the election and of the qualifications of its members.

The House of Delegates is composed of up to three (3) delegates from each Society; the President, President-Elect, Secretary, Treasurer, and two Members-at-Large of the Board of the Academy; and the four preceding Academy Past Presidents. Delegates shall be Fellows in good standing in the Academy and shall be selected by Academy members of their Society. A Delegate elected as member of the Board of Directors ceases to be a Society Delegate at the beginning of their term as an officer. In such event, a Delegate will be appointed to complete the unexpired term in accordance with the individual Society bylaws.

The term of service of Delegates starts at the beginning of the Annual Professional Development Conference in the year in which the member was certified as a Delegate and ends at the start of the next annual Conference the following year.

The House of Delegates shall meet during each Academy Conference and at such other times and places as may become necessary.
