In
1988, seven Societies acted in their common interest and
came together to create the American Academy of Certified
Public Managers. Since that time, the organization has
grown to 20 active Societies across the country.
Membership in the local Society bestows an individual with
membership in the Academy. The enthusiastic participation
and support of the individual Societies and their members
is necessary if the Academy is to prosper and meet the
needs of its membership.
The
President of each Society plays an important role in the
operations of the Academy, as they are the focal point
through which communication between the Academy and its
members occurs. |
