Larry P. Totten (KY), Academy President in 2004, was honored as the recipient of the Henning Award this year. Larry was selected from a field of eight very distinguished candidates.
The Askew Award was given in recognition of 18 outstanding projects as submitted by their respective Societies or CPM Programs. For the first time, Askew Awards were presented for projects submitted from Iowa and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) CPM Programs. The Wilkinson Scholarships were awarded to two outstanding CPM’s this year – Nicki LeMaster-Butler (MS) and Ronald Volkerding (OH).
The President’s Award was presented to Greg Hyland (AZ) for his outstanding work in electronically capturing the words of CPM Founder Ken Henning from his presentations during the 2003 Conference and then editing the results into a professional grade video.
Two Special Service Recognition Awards were presented this year to Larry P. Totten (KY) and Edward R. Burt III (NC) as they completed their terms on the Academy Board. The Awards recognized them for their years of service and dedication to the Academy as Board Members. Larry is the longest serving Board Member in Academy history and Ed is the second longest serving.
The Board approved Academy Memberships for the CPM Societies for Idaho and Virginia. This brings the total number of Society Members of the Academy to twenty-one (21). Discussions regarding Academy Memberships for the Iowa and Washington (State) Societies were begun this year.
The Board continued the special relationship with the Georgia Society established when the Society became inactive five years ago. Georgia Society Members will continue their membership with the Academy. |
