Each year, the Academy recognizes an outstanding member with the Henning Trophy named for Kenneth K. Henning, the founder of the CPM Program. The Trophy is awarded to the member who has made the greatest contribution to the Certified Public Manager® Program at the state and/or national level.
The Academy was proud to recognize Larry P. Totten (KY) as the recipient of this most prestigious Award.
Other members honored this year as nominees were Pat Ashford (MS), Ted Barber (FL), Ronald Buchholz (WI), Ed Burt (NC), Julie Felice (UT), Kay Nidiffer Rogers (SC), and Mary Wilson (OK).

These scholarships, named in memory of Fran L. Wilkinson for her leadership in the CPM program at the state and national level, were developed to promote a high professional, educational and ethical standard in public management. They provide cash awards to deserving students who plan a career in public management.
In 2004, the Academy was proud to award the Wilkinson Scholarships to Nikki LeMaster-Butler (MS) and Ronald S. Volkerding (OH).
