We move again into the change of seasons as the cycle of life continues. Leaves in Wisconsin have turned brilliant colors and many have already fallen. There is now a considerable nip in the air and the fall weather (the most desirable and unfortunately the shortest lasting season in Wisconsin) is now upon us. We haven't had any snow yet here in Madison, but it won't be too far away.

Other signs of year-end include the recent elections at both the state and national level and fall sports, particularly college football and the World Series. Fall sports provide a diversion for many of us. This is especially true this fall for several Board Members. Debbie Smith, Julie Felice and I have been closely following the fortunes of the Oklahoma Sooners, Utah Utes and Wisconsin Badger football teams, respectively. As I write this message, all three teams are nationally ranked and Oklahoma and Utah finished their seasons unbeaten. Determining who will go to which Bowl, including the BCS Championship Bowl is the next step. It has made for some interesting discussions among Debbie, Julie and I during the year! Meanwhile, Bill Herman, as our resident New England representative on the Board, is basking in the glow of the Red Sox come back four straight victories over the Yankees (breaking the "Curse of the Bambino") and the four game sweep of the Cardinals in the World Series…More >
