Kansas Society of Certified Public Managers®
Hi everyone—hope this newsletter finds everyone in good health and enjoying the wonderful weather that Kansas has been experiencing. Where has the year gone? Just a few months ago, it seemed like we were planning to host the AACPM conference. June came and passed by us in a hurry, everyone survived the conference planning and are hopefully revived for a new challenge.
The AACPM conference that was hosted by KSCPM was wonderful. If you were not able to attend, you really did miss a fine event. Kent Olson, Pat Writt, and I were just amazed at all the wonderful comments we constantly received. It was so amazing to watch everything materialize that we had worked on for years. The committee chairs and members of each and every committee really did shine. It was so delightful to stand back and watch everyone work together to accomplish the one common goal—host the AACPM conference and make our attendees feel welcome, provide them with a quality conference, and provide the best benefit we can to all attendees. Well, we did it—and we did it well. What an OUTSTANDING conference. KSCPM does thank each and every attendee for coming. We were happy to host you, our friends. The AACPM Board wrote and acknowledged the wonderful conference that it was and thanked us for our efforts. To you, whatever part you played in helping host or attend this conference, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!
We hope to see each and every one of you next year in New Hampshire. I know they have been working hard on planning the 2005 AACPM conference—and we know it will be wonderful also. What a GREAT opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and become renewed again.
So the conference has concluded, and KSCPM needs to return to regular business What has been happening? The KSCPM board continues to meet monthly. We will continue to hold our society meetings - providing speakers to members, current class members, and past graduates. We continue to locate past graduates that we have lost touch with.
The current Kansas CPM class will be graduating in December, 2004 and a new group of students will begin the program in January, 2005. It is always so exciting to meet the new students. Election of officers for the Kansas Society is currently being held.
I wish to thank each and every fellow CPM graduate from each and every state that I have had the pleasure to meet and/or correspond with during the past year. It has been a delight to serve KSCPM as the President for 2004. The Kansas Society continues to explore new territory to seek improvements.
Have a great holiday season—and may 2005 be a very prosperous year for each and every one of you. Happy Holidays from Kansas—and may we meet in New Hampshire for the 2005 AACPM conference.
