NCSCPM Hosts Fall Educational Workshop
The North Carolina Society of Certified Public Managers® held its fall workshop, LEADING IN CHANGING TIMES, MAKING THE BUREAUCRACY WORK on October 12, 2004. The workshop was held in the President's Dining room on the beautiful campus of Peace College in Raleigh, North Carolina. Gerry Fisher presented the morning session focusing on the function of bureaucracy and how to get things done when you don't hold the reins. In particular, he discussed where bureaucracy originated, and how it works or does not work, how to get around the obstacles, and how to stay anchored in changing times. During the afternoon session, Terry Bell energized everyone with her motivational presentation on PERC: Personal Empowerment Requires Commitment. She focused on identifying attitudes and actions that are necessary for personal and career development and challenged each participant to develop a plan of action that is attainable within the next six months.
The 26 participants listed positive comments about the workshop and speakers in their evaluations of the workshop. Congratulations to the Program Committee for providing the Society with another great training session.
