Committee Co-Chairs
The Strategic Planning Ad Hoc Committee has been very busy evaluating survey results from five stakeholder groups. The breakdown of surveys received is as follows:
Stakeholder Target Group |
# of respondents: |
# of states represented |
Consortium Members |
17 |
10 (+ 7 from “other”) |
Students |
280 |
8 (+ 9 from “other”) |
State Society & AACPM Board Officers |
47 |
15 (+ 1 from “other”) |
State Society & AACPM Members |
414 |
18 |
State Program Graduates |
317 |
5 (+ 74 from “other”) |
Totals: |
1,075 |
18 states + other |
The task of analyzing the results is in progress. Members of the committee are breaking down each of the surveys to determine recommendations to present to the AACPM Board. Our timeline for this project is:
- July 2009: Committee plans to email society presidents inviting them and their membership to join a strategic planning overview and feedback session at the annual conference in Orlando, Florida
- September 2009: at the conference, the committee plans to:
- provide a poster session version of this report
- provide draft conclusions and feedback session
- November 2009: Committee will provide final report to AACPM Board and HOD and post the report on the AACPM web site with a link to a blog response and feedback discussion board
Just to refresh you, our objectives are to provide wide participation of stakeholder groups, generate ideas and identify issues of concern relevant to each stakeholder group, as well as achieve maximum simplicity and value. In an effort to ensure question value, clarity of style, and grammatical correctness, the surveys were collaboratively developed, edited and then pre-tested twice on-line by our committee membership. Although recognizing that our on-line surveys would have an uneven distribution among targeted groups and that some people who fit into two or more stakeholder groups might respond to more than one survey, we believed responses should reflect perspectives of each stakeholder group and provide insightful feedback.
Our thanks goes to Debbie Smith, Terri Callahan and Jack Lemons for their phone calls and emailing help for the distribution of our online surveys conducted in March and April 2009. Extra special thanks goes to Chris Cunningham, Coordinator, Cybercrime Training Lab at Fairleigh Dickinson University, who created our online surveys using Surveymonkey.com.
We look forward to presenting our results and getting additional feedback from the heart of AACPM, our members.
