Society News

Wow,  how time passes fast when you are working hard and having fun doing it. We have been busy, busy, busy finishing up our spring scheduled events and gearing up for the summer. We recently finished a few of our community activities with the OETA Festival 2007 telethon where this year Team OSCPM raised more than $12K in commitments for public television. The MS Walk was a great success as well. Our theme this year was “Happy Birthday Oklahoma” as we continue to celebrate our state’s centennial. Each year society members volunteer their time staffing one of the rest stations or participating as a walker in our fight against Multiple Sclerosis. This year, six of our members participated as walkers. In May, we are participating in the Quality Oklahoma Team Day recognizing the contributions of public service employees.

Moving forward, the continuing education L3 (Leadership, Lunch and Learn) series has an event this June. We are in the planning stages for the summer reunion in July. In addition, we are going try something new with the upcoming L3 series, and we are excited to be hosting the August session from a site in the Tulsa, Oklahoma area. The plans are in the works and we look forward to the new experience.

We strive each step of this journey to reach our goal and that is to be the best. We are the “Emissaries of Public Management doing a great work.”
