Consortium Plans Annual Meeting for Topeka

The National Certified Public Manager“ Consortium will hold its annual meeting in Topeka, June 19-20, in conjunction with the AACPM conference.

On Saturday the 19th Consortium members working on goals will address topics such as expanding CPM to all 50 states (Goal 1), Consortium communication and development of a database to store and retrieve program data (Goal 2), and measuring return on investment for CPM programs (Goal 3).

Among several committees working on Saturday will be the Standards and Guidelines committee looking at changes in the constitution/bylaws and job descriptions for executive council and committee chairs. Additionally, a committee will be hard at work on plans for the Consortium’s 25th Anniversary Celebration next year in New Hampshire.

On Sunday, after the reports from groups working on Saturday, the Consortium will discuss a joint annual meeting/conference with the Consortium, AACPM and NAGTAD in 2005, receive reports for continuing accreditation for the CPM programs in Alabama, Kentucky, New Jersey and Utah, and appoint continuing accreditation review committees for Florida, Louisiana and Ohio.

The agenda also includes the Consortium administrator’s report and the report of the nominating committee for 2004-05 officer election.

On Monday afternoon the Consortium gathers again for the Annual Consortium Roundtable where each CPM program shares program innovations and issues with other Consortium members. Following the Roundtable, new and prospective Consortium members have an opportunity to discuss CPM program development with accredited members.

After working on Saturday and Sunday the Consortium will be ready to relax and enjoy the social on Sunday evening with AACPM members.
