Arkansas Society of Certified Public Managers®

The Arkansas Society of Certified Public Managers® has elected its 2006 Board:

The Society hosts quarterly ASCPM “Lunch and Learn” meetings where speakers cover information and issues relating to state and local government. At the March luncheon, Kay Barnhill, Manager of the Classification and Compensation Section of the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration, Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Division, spoke to the group about the statewide classification and compensation study currently in progress. This includes classifying positions, evaluating jobs, developing classification standards and specifications, assigning pay grades to classifications, collecting salary data, developing and administering pay plan policies and procedures, developing and administering performance evaluation procedures and providing professional assistance and guidance related to personnel management for every state employee. The Classification and Compensation Section will analyze all state agency positions and prepare appropriate recommendations to the Governor and the Legislature prior to the 2007 Legislative session.
