Society News

The Kansas Society of Certified Public Managers® (KSCPM) has been concentrating our efforts on attracting new members. We are happy to share that we have significantly increased membership this year. One of our goals was to get students excited in our Society. To this end, Board Members visited all four classes in March. We visited two classes in Topeka, one class in Kansas City, and one in Hutchinson. The Society provided lunch, information and games. These visits were fun for students and Board Members alike.

We held a “Heart Healthy” lunch in February with a speaker from a local hospital talking to us about what we can do to become and stay healthy. Lunch was provided – a healthy salad of course. In July, we will be having an evening picnic at Lake Shawnee. Some of the original Society members will be presenting a history of KSCPM, and we will have challenge game competition. In October, KSCPM will be presenting its 2nd Annual Professional Development Conference. Our focus will be on Communicating and Sharing Information. This event is open to all our CPM graduates and students, as well as to the public.
