The Kentucky Society of Certified Public Managers® is proud to serve as the host for the Academy’s 18th Annual Professional Development Conference to be held in Louisville this September. Our Conference theme links us to our past, when Kentucky first hosted an Academy Conference, but with an eye on today.
Conference activities will begin on Sunday, September 10 and will conclude on Tuesday, September 12. The House of Delegates will meet on Wednesday morning, September 13.
The Galt House Hotel & Suites will again be headquarters for this event. Just 10 minutes from Louisville’s airport, this facility has just completed a multi-million dollar renovation of all sleeping and meeting rooms and public spaces. As the only hotel on the waterfront, the 25-story Galt House is also the only hotel to offer magnificent views of the Ohio River and downtown Louisville.
You will be within walking distance of many downtown attractions – Fourth Street Live, Actors Theatre, Riverfront parks, Louisville Slugger Museum, Louisville Science Center, Kentucky Center for the Arts, Muhammad Ali Museum, Slugger Field and more. Find out why the legendary Galt House has been a cornerstone of Southern hospitality since 1835.
At this time, keynote speakers and session presenters are being contacted and information on the program will be available shortly. In the meantime, we are excited to announce a fun-filled activity for Monday evening – an evening cruise on the historic steamboat, the Belle of Louisville. Docked at the river wharf just below our Conference hotel, this dinner cruise will feature a buffet meal while providing the opportunity to mingle with your fellow Academy members. And, we’ll be back on shore in plenty of time for those who want to sample the nightlife at Fourth Street Live!
Remember - mark your calendars for September 10-12. We’ll post details as they are finalized. Check back from time to time at either www.kscpm.org or www.cpmacademy.org. We look forward to seeing you in Louisville!
