The first two strategic planning sessions for the New Hampshire Association of Certified Public Managers® (NHACPM) were held on November 29, 2006 and January 5, 2007. Monika Bissell, Bureau Chief of the New Hampshire Division of Personnel, Bureau of Education and Training, facilitated the development of the plan. NHACPM, second year CPM students, as well as non-association members were invited to attend.
The first two sessions were very successful. The NHACPM now has a list of short-term, mid-term, and long-term goals. Each planning member has been given the task of refining a certain goal to see if it would be reachable within the time frame listed. Once this has been accomplished, the goals will be put into a plan of action. This has been a challenging, yet refreshing procedure. Once completed, member approval of a revised mission and vision, as well as goals, will be the next step.
President Kathy Carr regretfully resigned from her position and Vice President Charlene Farmer assumed the role of President for the remainder of her term (2007). Newly elected officers were sworn in on February 7th. The 2007 officers include: Charlene Farmer, President; Kathy Gallagher, Past President; Chris Way, Vice President; Deb Bourbeau, Treasurer; Peggy Curtis, Secretary; Diane Frechette, Interim Member at Large; and Kent Finemore, Member at Large.
At the initial meeting of the new board, priorities for the upcoming months were determined, with updating the website and membership being selected as the top two initiatives to work on.
Once the new board members are settled in and the new strategic plan is put into place, look for great achievements within the New Hampshire Association of Certified Public Managers®! |
