The American Academy of Certified Public Managers® (AACPM) annual scholarships have been provided to those members who have pursued continued professional development while following a career in public management. These scholarships are named for Fran L. Wilkinson, the 1983 President of the Georgia CPM Society and the 1987 Chair of the National CPM Consortium, who died in 1990. In 1994, the Academy voted to name the existing scholarship program after Fran Wilkinson as a token of remembrance, affection, and esteem. The scholarship is intended ‘to promote a high professional, educational and ethical standard in public management”, one of the founding objectives of the AACPM.
