The Wisconsin Society of Certified Public Managers® has begun a new year, with a new slate of officers, reinvigorated after hosting our friends from across the country at the 19th Annual AACPM Professional Development Conference last fall. In fact, our society membership reached a new record high of 127 members in 2007. We will work hard to draw on that strength as we move into this new year rededicated to offering valued services to our membership.
Partially in recognition of her outstanding efforts in making the conference a success, the WSCPM awarded the 2007 Wisconsin Manager of the Year Award to Kathy Skiera at our Annual Meeting in October 2007. The photo shows Kathy receiving her award from the 2007 President-Elect, Mark Evans. Kathy has been an outstanding contributor to all we’ve done well, and we all are very grateful for her work. You can see other things we are up to by visiting out Society Web site www.wscpm.org which continues to be a key communication tool for all of us. In fact, we are now in the early stages of developing a blog you can visit, right off our HomePage. This is consistent with our recognition that learning new tools and modeling their effective use is a fundamental responsibility each of us has as a public manager.
