HENNING AWARD - Larry Totten of Kentucky (right) receives the 2004 Henning Award from former AACPM President Thomas Patterson of Louisiana during the AACPM Annual Awards Program in Topeka, Kansas. Totten was also recognized as the longest tenured AACPM Board member during the festivities.

In the opening session, held in the House Chambers of the historic Kansas Capitol, attendees were welcomed by several city and state dignitaries, including State Representative Barbara Ballard.

The final day of the conference, guests were treated to the final keynote speaker, Mark Hood who dressed in full costume as the Wizard.

OPENING SESSION - Certified Public Managers from around the country gathered in Topeka, Kansas in June for the 16 th Annual AACPM Professional Development Conference. The opening session of the conference was held in the historic chambers of the House of Representatives in the Kansas State Capital Building.

Conference guests were treated to a Wild West Hoedown, complete with fried chicken and all the fixins'. The evening's dining and entertainment was capped with music from the Brazos Valley Boys.
