I have found the Annual Reports prepared by the Academy and by each Member Society to be another great source of communication. The Academy's Annual Report is now posted on the Academy Web Page under "Publications". I have read each Society's report and found them to be very interesting and of value. The Societies were asked to post their Annual Reports on their Society Web Sites and some have already done so. The Society Web Sites are another source of communication for your use.
The Annual Conferences provide the opportunity for us to meet and communicate in person. For many of us, this is our preferred means of communication. The 2004 Conference in Topeka provided a tremendous opportunity to those of us who were able to attend to meet and communicate with each other.
While on the topic of the annual Conferences, I offer a large "Thank You!" and "Job Well Done!" to the Kansas Society for the outstanding Conference in Topeka in June. The overall quality and professionalism of the Conference from the registration on Sunday to the closing of the HOD and "Yellow Brick Road Trip" on Wednesday were obvious to all in attendance. It was very evident that hosting the Conference was truly a labor of love for everyone involved. The friendliness, hospitality, unity and, yes, even the communication opportunities bore out the commitment of the Kansas Society to make the Conference a success. Clearly, they achieved their goal and deserve again, our thanks and appreciation. Click here to get information about Conference highlights.
