I trust you are enjoying a pleasant summer and have had safe returns from your planned vacations. And if you are still due a vacation, I encourage you to quickly sign up for the 17th AACPM Annual Professional Development Conference and make it part of your annual getaway.  What a great way to complete the needed educational units many of us are required to complete each year as managers and to experience visiting a section of our great nation that we may not typically get to visit.

But before my downtime begins at the end of the conference; let me challenge you to not miss the 2005 Conference. As professionals who are committed to increasing value in your workplace and your state; here is the benefit you will reap:

  • National quality speakers who will not only inform you, but will stretch you and inspire you.
  • Networking with a diverse group of equally-trained public servants from other states and organizations.
  • Discovering what other leaders are experiencing and what they are doing.
  • Meeting new members of the Academy and establishing life long friendships.
  • Being part of the twenty-fifth year festivities for the Certified Public Manager program.

Take the newly acquired expertise and learned techniques home and be a “star” in your workplace. The key to leadership is having a well stocked tool box and being a competent executor of current skillsMore >
