We’re starting a new column with this edition of the CPM Connection. It’s an announcement section. So, if you have information about an Academy member that you feel needs to be shared, by all means send it to me and we’ll get it published. As of now, there are no boundaries, just keep it decent and clean.

Our good friend Ardie Davis of Kansas has a new Granddaughter

Introducing Emma Rae Mengde Krause, Ardie Davis’s daughter, son-in-law & oldest grandson flew to China on August 9th to meet her and bring her home to Kansas, legally adopted and a U.S. citizen. Meng was a famous Chinese philosopher, so maybe she will be a philosopher—or better yet, a public servant. She could run for Academy office in 2030!

Jeff Kramer gets Married

Former Academy Board member, and Arizona Past President, Jeff Kramer married Liz Kuwamoto (Liz attended last year’s conference in Manchester) on Saturday, July 15th in front of 225 witnesses at St Timothy’s Chapel. Their wedding took place on the 2nd anniversary of their first date. A bit of good luck befell the couple as rain began falling (a good thing for Arizona) just as the reception started. Please join me in wishing Liz and Jeff best wishes from the all their friends in the Academy.

Since I wrote the information above, some more congratulations are due. Jeff has recently accepted the position of Assistant Public Works Director for Transportation and Operations for the City of Chandler, Arizona—congratulations Jeff!

President Elect Accepts New Position

As noted earlier in this edition, AACPM President Elect Julie Felice has accepted a new position with Intermountain Health Care in Salt Lake City. Julie will be overseeing radiation safety in four of Utah’s largest hospitals. Julie will remain a vital part of the AACPM leadership team and expects to fulfill her term as Academy President next year. Intermountain Health Care supports professional development and involvement, and is supporting Julie’s activities with the Academy. Congratulations Julie!
