Time passes quickly when you are having fun! It is hard to believe we are only six months into the new year. This has been a great time for the Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Managers®!
We are looking forward to AACPM’s 18th Annual Professional Development Conference. Mary Brewington received the AACPM Conference Fee Waiver for a first-time attendee to the annual conference in Louisville, KY. Joyce Smith, president, and David Brown, past president, will present, “Sharing the Wealth: How Oklahoma Built and Maintains a Successful State Society,” at the Kentucky conference. The wildly popular Oklahoma basket is being designed. Oklahoma nominations have been submitted for the Askew, Henning, and Wilkerson awards. Our fingers, toes, and eyes are crossed for positive outcomes. OSCPM’s proposal to host the 2010 annual conference was submitted and accepted. So plan now to join us for the full Oklahoma experience!
Our most recent L3 (learning, leadership and lunch) Series was conducted by the Oklahoma Association of Parliamentarians. They put a new spin on an old topic and made it interesting for everyone.
No one wants to work and be serious all the time, so we took time out for a Summer Reunion – a fun family event paid in full by OSCPM. We gathered at the home of one of our members for barbeque and the “fixin’s,” cards, dominoes, board games, swimming and more. It was good to get out of town – any town – and have some country fun.
We continue to prepare for and promote the 17th OSCPM Annual Educational Conference on September 8th at the National Center for Educational Development. We are excited because, this year, we can accommodate more registrants than ever before. We have great speakers and breakout sessions planned, and our registration material is at press and will be available in the very near future.
OSCPM is such an active organization. All the credit goes to our wonderful, responsive membership. We strive to live up to our motto of “OSCPM: Certifiably the Best!” |
