Society News

Summer time is here and our Society is in full swing planning for the 2007 AACPM Conference, to be held in Madison next September. Please review the planned activities in the 2007 Conference article in this newsletter, and visit our web page at www.wscpm.com. Our Society is very excited about hosting the 2007 conference and a great deal of planning has already taken place to make this conference memorable. Watch for our 2007 conference logo shirts in Louisville.

The Wisconsin Society is also planning several training sessions this fall. “Verbal Judo for Leaders” will take place on September 26, 2006 and “Technology Issues for Local Government Entities” will be held on October 25th and December 5th. Both classes are taught by Society members. Two of the three sessions will be held at the Madison Concourse Hotel, which is the site of the 2007 AACPM conference. This will give us a chance to test out the facility training rooms and arrangements. The October seminar will be held in conjunction with our annual meeting.

The Wisconsin Society will have a large contingent heading to Louisville in September for the 2006 AACPM Conference. We are all excited about the networking, training sessions and conference coordination details that we will experience at this conference. And, yes, some of us are excited about the social events too.

I hope to see many of you in Louisville. Have a great summer and we’ll see you in September. It almost sounds like a song!
