Society News

Summertime, summertime…while our year is halfway over, our enthusiasm is just getting its second wind. We have exciting times ahead, and they are fast approaching for everyone. We are hard at work preparing for many upcoming events. The August L3 Luncheon series will be presented in the Tulsa, Oklahoma area. Our presenter will be Ms. Lisa Fortier of the Office of Personnel Management. She is the newly appointed CPM Program Manager, and she will be presenting Seven Habits of Highly Effective People. This is our first time to take this fantastic event series on the road, and we are thrilled.

The plans, the plans…we have so many plans moving ahead. Our 18th annual educational conference to be held in Norman, Oklahoma on September 7, 2007 is almost here. This premier event is going to be one to remember. The program is set, and this year, we have a wonderful set of keynote speakers featuring Mark Mayfield on the topic “Can I Have a Side Order of Bad Service with That?” and Dr. Mary Ann Bauman on “Fight Fatigue: Six Simple Steps to Maximize Your Energy.” The session breakouts are truly inspiring. Presenters will be Jim Priest on “Employment Law 101,” G. Eric Gordon on “Eliminate Negativity In The Workplace,” James Randell on “Project Management”, Dr. Andrew Urich on “Professional Ethics: Managing for an Ethical Organization,” and the astonishing group, the Certified Procurement Officer Panel, featuring the “Emissaries in Procurement.”

Always remembering our theme, we are the “Emissaries of Public Management doing a great work.”
