The Wisconsin Society of Certified Public Managers® welcomes all of you to the 19th Annual AACPM National Professional Development Conference in Madison. This newsletter should reach you just prior to conference time and all of you should be registered and in attendance. This is the last year of a two year term as president of our society. The majority of these two years has been spent on the planning and organizing of the Professional Development Conference. Those of us who were board members back in 2001 when we decided to host the conference were unsure where this would lead. We had a very small society and were uncertain if we could take on all of the responsibilities. Now that the time is here, I feel that we made the right decision. Our society has become more active, our members are more involved and we have all grown as managers. We have always had a close relationship with the CPM Program and the interaction for the conference has enhanced that relationship with the Program coordinators and the current students. Our society is now stronger, more active and growing. There is no doubt in my mind that we are now in a better position to provide excellent public management and networking services to our members.

Please take the time to reach out and meet our society members while you attend the conference. We are excited to have you visit our state and want to provide you with an experience that you won’t forget. Attend the great educational presentations and enjoy all of the networking and social activities that we have planned.
