Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Managers®

It’s been a whirling dust devil of excitement in Oklahoma City the past few months! When the red dirt settles, we expect to host the best AACPM Conference ever in our Bricktown area. There are so many sights to see. Whether you enjoy art museums, history, shopping, indoor or outdoor dining, Oklahoma City has it covered!

OSCPM Board and Committee members met for the 2010 planning session in January. With so many opportunities for everyone to put their talents and networking skills to use, nearly all our members will have the chance to make a lasting friend from another state!

On March 10, Lisa Fortier, CPM liaison from the Office of Personnel Management, will present the first of three Leadership Lunch and Learn mini-seminars. She will discuss Steven Covey’s “Habit 1: Be Proactive.”

We continue our local public relations efforts as well. To date, members have donated 170 used cellular phones to the “Cell Phones for Soldiers” program where AT&T turns the used cellular phones into calling cards for our military men and women overseas. Upcoming projects include the 2010 OETA (public television) telethon on March 19 to benefit programming; 2010 Multiple Sclerosis Walk on May 1; and Quality Oklahoma Team Day on May 6 (highlighting money-saving and innovative projects from various state agencies).

We are having a great time and are looking forward to meeting each of you in Oklahoma City this October!!
