To begin my first Treasurer’s Report, I want to wholeheartedly thank all of the state society treasurers and officers for helping me create an effective e-mail list so I can communicate with all of you. I also want to thank everyone for getting the annual assessments and first quarter dues to me in a timely manner. Of our 19 active societies, only one has not yet paid first quarter dues. Our 2009 budget was based upon total membership of 1,550. Our total membership is down for most societies. We currently have 1,004 members including four unaffiliated Fellows.
The 2008 financial report is currently being reviewed by the accounting firm of Holcomb and Shreeve, CPA’s, in Gilbert, Arizona. The review should be completed by the time this report is published.
The House of Delegates approved budget was $39,165. We have received assessments and dues of $20,975. Other deposits for interest, merchandise, and Amazon fees are $322.55. The Alabama Society, which recently went into inactive status, contributed $1,202.94 to the Academy. The Board voted to put these funds in reserve for possible application to 2009 conference expenses. Expenditures are $12,950.35, which includes the deposit of $2,000 for the Florida conference.
We have been working very hard negotiating and setting a budget for the Florida conference. I want to commend Joanne Robertson, Diana Chadwell, and Coleen Miller of Florida for their dedication and unending enthusiasm. If you haven’t had a chance to look at the website (www.aacpmconference.com) please take a few minutes to do so. You will be impressed!
I would like to remind everyone to place your Amazon orders through the link on the Academy’s website (www.cpmacademy.org). In this economy, every dollar we raise will help.
