In honor of the 20th Anniversary of the Wisconsin Certified Public Manager® Program, Governor Jim Doyle proclaimed June 4, 2010, “Certified Public Manager® Day” throughout Wisconsin. This proclamation was one of many highlights during the 20th anniversary event in Madison. See copy under “Society News.”
The celebration was in recognition of the 475 Wisconsin Certified Public Managers® who make the program proud. The twenty-year impact of the program was highlighted via posters and abstracts of a variety of award-winning projects. Wisconsin Society President, Lutfi Shahrani, spoke of the symbiotic relationship between the Wisconsin Society and the program, and invited graduates in the audience to speak about how the program had benefited them. It was a morning of reconnecting with old friends and sharing great memories. CPM instructors, staff, advisory board members, current candidates, and friends of the program mingled and celebrated all that is good about Wisconsin state and local government.
