On October 25th the Idaho Society welcomed Silver Rose who spoke on how to “Get Others to do What Needs to be Done — Willingly!” She addressed topics such as how to take the sting out of change, motivating others to think for themselves, how to critique without condemning, and showing appreciation more effectively. The four workshops were very interactive and provided the attendees with tools that they could begin using right away. The comments and responses from those who participated were extremely positive.
During the lunch period on October 25th, we held our annual meeting that included electing officers for 2008. Those who attended the annual meeting were thrilled that our bid to host the 2013 AACPM Professional Development Conference had been accepted and are looking forward to welcoming everyone to Idaho. The Society has contracted to have our website revamped and updated in anticipation of the conference and to make it more user friendly to our members. We hope to roll out the new site in January.
On December 18th Idaho will graduate two CPM classes. The Society sponsors the refreshments after graduation ceremonies for graduates, family, and supervisors. This year we are fortunate to have AACPM President Ron Buchholz speak with the graduates about the benefits of joining the Idaho Society and the AACPM.
As the 2008 society president I am looking forward the coming year!
