Special Elections

I am very pleased to announce the results of the recently completed Special Election to fill the three AACPM Board of Director positions (President-Elect, Secretary and At-Large Board Member — Member Affairs) up for election this year.

There were a number of highly qualified individuals who were nominated to run for this Special Election.

The winners of the Election are as follows:

• President-Elect, Steve Mastro, NC
• Secretary, Debra Bourbeau, NH
• At-Large Board Member — Member Affairs, Debbie Smith, OK

On behalf of the AACPM Board of Directors, the AACPM HOD and the Member Societies of the AACPM, I congratulate Steve, Debra and Debbie on their election to the AACPM Board of Directors effective January 1, 2008.

I also acknowledge and thank all the individuals who were nominated and ran for office this year (Dr. Ada Burnette [FL], Gail Gibson [LA], Chris Grasso [FL], Shirley Hollis [KS] and Sam Jones [SC]). I look forward to their continued involvement and support of the Academy and also look forward to seeing their names on the ballot for future AACPM elections.

Lastly, I want to especially thank 2007 Board of Elections Chair Robinil Jameson and the members of the Board of Election Committee this year (Shawn Bradley [OH], Janet Earnest [KY], Bobbi Eckerle [ID]; Naomi Hines [TX], Tim Lampe [AR] and Paulette Laubsch [NJ]) for their dedication, hard work and efforts to make the election process this year, including the Special Election, run as smoothly and efficiently as possible.

The three new Board Members will be sworn in at the Annual Board Meeting to be held in February in San Diego, California.
