Society News

The Kansas Society would like to thank the Ohio Society for its excellent conference. The speakers were exceptional and the hospitality superb. Only two members of the Kansas Board and our two Askew Winners were able to attend. However, our Askew Winners were so impressed by the program and the people they met, that they have become enthusiastic members. We are also pleased to  report that, due to Rick Gardner's work on his CPM Capstone Project, he has been promoted within the Kansas Department of Transportation.

The Kansas Society hosted a one day Professional Conference on October 9, 2008 with wonderful success. The speakers included Pearl Rovaris MacDonald who spoke on Leadership Management and Worldstyles of Leadership and Communication; Evelyn Eubank, who's topic was Top 10 Proactive Listening Tips and Increasing Personal Success by Building Personal Work Engagement Power; Topeka Chief of Police Ronald Miller, who presented "Good to Great" based on the book by Jim Collins; and Secretary of State Ron Thornburg, who delivered the closing presentation on the value and pride of being a Civil Servant.

The Kansas Society is in the process of its election for 2009. On December 12, 2008 we will be participating in and honoring the 2008 CPM graduates.
